The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) have awarded TÜV SÜD Nuclear Technologies the Specialist Technical and Strategic Support Services Framework Agreement. TÜV SÜD Nuclear Technologies have previously worked with the NDA alongside 3 other suppliers. The new 4-year call-off contract, with an estimated value of £6m, replaces the previous framework and TÜV SÜD Nuclear Technologies will be the sole supplier.
Steve Browning, TÜV SÜD Nuclear Technologies Managing Director, said: “We are proud to have built up a strong working relationship with the NDA over the last 8 years. Being selected as the sole supplier for this contract shows they have trust and confidence in our services.“
The work will cover a variety of disciplines under the NDA’s five strategic themes of Site Decommissioning and Remediation, Spent Fuel Management, Nuclear Materials, Integrated Waste Management and Critical Enablers (including Research, Development and Innovation, Transport and Logistics as well as Non-NDA Liabilities). TÜV SÜD Nuclear Technologies has over 25 years of experience in advising organisations in these areas.
Steve Browning explained: “As part of the workstream to support the NDA, TÜV SÜD has set up an alliance with a number of nuclear companies with a broad range of expertise and experience within the nuclear industry. These include Atkins, Assystem, CRA, The Manufacturing Technology Centre, and SMEs such as Collaborative Environmental Advisers (CEA) Ltd. Environmental, GRI, React Engineering, Radecol and RED Engineering.”
