TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory is pleased to be one of the partner organisations in the upcoming Analysis for Innovators (A4I) grant funding competition. The A4I programme aims to help boost a company’s productivity or competitiveness by partnering them with the UK’s top scientists and cutting-edge facilities to address problems in innovative ways.

A4I is a very different type of programme from Innovate UK’s usual grant funding competitions. It funds collaborative innovation projects between the company and one, or more, A4I partner organisations (e.g. the UK’s leading measurement laboratories) including TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory.

Through the A4I Scheme and other associated funding programs, TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory has helped hundreds of UK companies solve major measurement challenges affecting their business. TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory is equipped with the largest and most diverse range of full-scale flow test facilities in the world. Its large team of established measurement scientists and experts use the most advanced techniques to provide industry with easily-integrable, cost-effective solutions. They have experience in supporting a wide range of businesses across different industry sectors.

In addition to testing flow measurement systems and components under realistic field conditions (including erosion testing; hydrogen testing; testing in single phase liquid, gas & water; hydrogen testing; high-pressure multiphase; and wet gas testing), TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory’s CFD Flow Modelling team has evaluated and improved the performance and integrity of a wide array of technologies. Our Data Science team has also been instrumental in helping many companies integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning capability into their products.

  • CFD modelling of renewable energy heat pump
  • Flow modelling to optimise performance of an algae production plant used to purify water
