AMF Reception a Success at Offshore Europe 2019

SPE Offshore EuropeWith over 900 exhibitors representing 130 countries, and attended by over 36,000 technicians, engineers, executives, operators and managers from right across the offshore industry, Offshore Europe remains a key event for exploration and production companies to keep up to date with emerging technologies and connect with experts from across the globe. TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory were delighted to take part in the 2019 edition, both in the exhibition and conference. This year it wasn’t just the innovative technologies and solutions being discussed that were new; the venue for the conference and exhibition was the brand-new P&J Live (TECA) in Aberdeen.

TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory took part in both the exhibition and conference at Offshore Europe 2019. Our stand within the Scotland Pavilion was bustling with attendees from across the offshore industry, all interested in learning more about the extensive facilities and services provided at the UK’s Designated Institute for Flow and Density Measurement in East Kilbride.

Offshore Europe is such a valuable event for the industry” commented Head of Sales and Business Development, Ewan Fisher. “It was fantastic to exhibit within the Scotland Pavilion; the support from Scottish Development International (SDI) throughout the event was invaluable. A number of international delegations visited the stand, including one from Japan which included the Mayor of Kyoto and we are actively pursuing a number of business leads as a result of the contacts made.

Head of Commercial Services, Anna Pieper added: “We were delighted to hold a reception, hosted by SDI on the Scotland Pavilion, to promote our new Advanced Multiphase Facility (AMF) set to launch in October. The reception was very well-attended and demonstrated the level of interest in this exciting new project. Offshore Europe brings together key experts from across the globe and there is no better opportunity to engage the industry and explore potential opportunities.”

The conference presentations covered several key themes including the energy transition, artificial intelligence and the transformation of the workforce. Head of Digital Services, Gordon Lindsay shared some of his team’s research focused on reducing costs through digitisation and condition-based monitoring. “The conference sessions demonstrated the need for continual innovation within the sector” commented Gordon. “It was apparent that there is a real desire to drive forward the transition to clean fuels and to use data to our advantage.” This is aligned to two of the Grand Challenges, Clean Growth and a Data Driven Economy, identified and prioritised by the UK government within the UK’s Industrial Strategy.
