TÜV SÜD’s Beverly Quinn named Chair of CIBSE Young Engineers Network - Scotland

TÜV SÜD Real Estate Division is pleased to announce that Beverly Quinn, Environmental Engineer, has recently moved from her position as Vice Chair to Chair of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) Young Engineers Network (YEN), Scotland. CIBSE YEN is a forum and support network for all young engineers.

In her new role as chairperson, Beverly will be responsible for organising technical CPDs and networking events within the region, promoting building services engineering to school and university students, and ensuring the young engineers engage more closely with CIBSE at an early stage in their careers.

Beverly joined TÜV SÜD as a Graduate Sustainability Consultant. During her six years with the company, she has completed a BEng (Hons) degree in Building Services Engineering sponsored by the company, and has progressed to Environmental Engineer. She is currently progressing her chartership application to become a chartered engineer, gaining MCIBSE Status.

Having worked on projects across the UK business, Beverly’s experience spans a number of sectors and includes involvement from concept design to post-occupancy evaluation. Specific sector experience includes commercial, education, healthcare, residential and retail.

Commenting on her appointment, Beverly said: “I am honoured to be a part of CIBSE. I look forward to growing our membership and to encourage young engineers to become Chartered in their career.”

Beverly is a keen advocate of encouraging young people to consider a career in building services and influences this through her role as a STEM ambassador. She is also a part of the Building Services Industry panel for Glasgow Caledonian University which has the aim of aligning their building services programme to suit the industry’s needs.

She has also been offered a place on the 2050 Climate Change Group Young Leaders Development programme, an award-winning skills development opportunity for young people in Scotland, which she will take up between September 2019 and March 2020.

Beverly Quinn Joined TÜV SÜD in 2013 as a Graduate Sustainability Consultant. Within her time with the company, Beverly has completed a BEng (Hons) degree in Building Services Engineering and has progressed to Environmental Engineer; focusing on energy and thermal comfort.
