TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman Appoints New Managing Director

TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman, Europe’s leading vertical transportation and façade access consultancy, has appointed Paul Hastings as Managing Director.

Hasting’s appointment is a new role which will support the continuing growth of TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He takes over day-to-day management of the business from Allan McGill, Divisional Director of TÜV SÜD’s Real Estate Division, allowing McGill to refocus on his broader responsibilities for both the vertical transportation and MEP parts of the UK real estate business.

Hastings has over 30 years of experience in the vertical transportation sector. He joined TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman in 2011 and was most recently Regional Director, where he was responsible for the Central England offices in Birmingham, Warrington, Sheffield and Leeds.

Allan McGill, Divisional Director of TÜV SÜD’s Real Estate Division, said: “Over the last three decades, Paul has built-up a very extensive knowledge of the vertical transportation and façade access sectors. His experience will further strengthen our capabilities, helping us to remain at the forefront of the European market and further expand our growth in Asia and the Middle East as part of the TÜV SÜD international network.”

About Paul

Paul completed his indentured apprenticeship in the lift industry in 1992, and as an engineer focused on bespoke refurbishment of existing installations. He progressed quickly to Area Technician covering sites across the Yorkshire and Humber regions.

Paul joined Dunbar Boardman as a Consulting Engineer in November 2011 working from the Sheffield office and was promoted in 2014 to Regional Director responsible for the Leeds and Sheffield offices. Paul’s regional responsibility expanded to cover offices in Warrington in the NW in 2017 and further again to include NE and Scotland the following year. Prior to this latest promotion Paul was Regional Director of TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman, responsible for the Central England region with offices in Birmingham, Warrington, Sheffield and Leeds.
