12 December 2019
The latest Oil and Gas Focus Group meeting took place in December, with over 70 attendees from the sector joining the team from TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory in Aberdeen.
The Oil and Gas Focus Group (OGFG) meetings are a great opportunity for those within the oil and gas sector to come together and hear a range of informative talks from the industry. A mainstay of our event calendar, the OGFG is always well attended, and December 2019 was no exception with over 70 delegates joining us in Aberdeen.
Delegates heard from Erik Verloop of Kimman Process Solutions, who shared some work they had done evaluating a new mixing method for pipeline sampling which had been tested at our multiphase facility in East Kilbride. Giles Edward of M-Flow highlighted the potential of permanent well monitoring as an alternative to test separation, and Steve Haughton of PCI Instruments discussed the different applications for diaphragm seals and the construction methods used. Lastly, Koen Roelstraete of Endress + Hauser focused on the use of optical methods, including Raman spectroscopy, for the analysis of oil and gas.
“As always, the OGFG meeting was very well attended and the standard of the presentations was very high. Reinforcing the international appeal of the focus group, two of the talks were presented by individuals who had joined the OGFG from mainland Europe. The topics discussed were varied and included a wide range of measurement challenges” commented OGFG Chair, Dr Chris Mills.
The Oil and Gas Focus Group is supported by the UK Government's National Measurement System (NMS) and is managed by TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory on its behalf. Interested in joining us next time? Click Here
