TÜV SÜD Middle East LLC is now authorized by SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization) as a Notified Body for a wide range of applications.
The accreditation authorises TÜV SÜD to issue Certificates under new SALEEM scheme for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The mandatory approval applies to most imported products and ensures compliance with national regulations and requirements - including safety, consumer protection, energy efficiency of certain products, telecommunications equipment and religious aspects. To gain market access to the KSA, manufacturers must meet the relevant standards and requirements based on the specified technical regulations.

TÜV SÜD is able to offer global manufacturers a complete solution for the technical evaluation, testing and certification of supplies according to the new "SALEEM" scheme (Saudi Product Safety Program).
"SALEEM" is an integral regulatory system initiated by SASO to control the products placed on the Saudi market. The SALEEM program classifies products into three risk categories and differentiates between regulated and non-regulated products.
The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) was established pursuant to the Royal Decree No. M/10 dated 03/03/1392 H as a body of judicial personality and of an independent budget. A board of directors, headed by his Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Investment and comprised of representatives of the major sectors concerned with standardization in the Kingdom, outlines the general policy of SASO.
