Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) offers solutions and insights for companies working on the energy transition. This webinar provides an introduction to CFD and explores some of its applications related to clean fuels and green projects. The general process of the computational analysis is outlined, and common challenges are highlighted.
CFD enables parametric studies in a cost-effective way, for cases where experiments are either expensive or not feasible. Recently, CFD was employed to study hydrogen dispersion at TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory’s new hydrogen flow calibration facility for domestic gas meters. Numerical simulation has enabled the accurate determination of the hazardous area classification zones. This project as well as other studies related to clean fuels are discussed in the webinar and the benefits of CFD analysis are identified.
This webinar, presented by Dr Lefki Germanou, aims to increase the attendees knowledge and understanding of CFD modelling and how it can be applied to clean fuels applications.
