This event will provide participants with knowledge about good practices for the use and calibration of infusion pumps and present the outcomes from the Euramet Metrology for Drug Delivery Project. It will also raise awareness, stimulate and share ideas with professionals who develop activities in the healthcare field for the importance of Metrology in the clinical and hospital environment.

Maria do Céu L. S. Ferreira holds a Degree in chemistry engineering, Master in Industrial Engineering and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Nova University of Lisbon, Portugal. For over 25 years professionally has taken a Metrologist position in conception, development and implementation of metrological activities related to scientific, legal and applied Metrology. Maria has been highly involved in Health Metrology as a Researcher Metrologist. She is also Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Member of the Board of Directors for the Metrology Specialization Committee of the Portuguese Engineers Association, Legal Metrology Expert of OIML and Senior Auditor at a) Quality Systems Assessment (EN ISO 17020 and EN ISO 9001) and b) Assessment of calibration and testing laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025).
Senior Consultant, TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory
Chris is a Senior Consultant based at TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory in Glasgow. He recently completed his Engineering Doctorate with Coventry University and is also a chartered chemical engineer. Chris has over 14 years’ experience at TÜV SÜD and specialises in flow measurement, with a particular focus on Coriolis, turbine, and ultrasonic technologies. This includes calibration methodologies, traceability, and measurement uncertainty. As well as representing TÜV SÜD at EURAMET, Energy Institute Hydrocarbon Management Committee 1 (HMC-1), and International Standards Organisation, Chris also chairs the Measurement Focus Group meetings. He is also the Scientific Secretary for IMEKO Technical Committee 9 and represents TÜV SÜD at the International Bureau of Weights and Measures Working Group for Fluid Flow.
