This page answers questions about the TÜV SÜD ID.
TÜV SÜD ID is the common user ID for all customer portals and customer stores of TÜV SÜD. With this ID, you can access all digital services of TÜV SÜD, assuming appropriate access rights. Along the TÜV SÜD ID, you have a user name and a password with which you can log in to the portals and stores of TÜV SÜD. A part of the TÜV SÜD ID is a set of master data that you can manage.
• If you use several services of TÜV SÜD, you can very easily access them all with the same credentials.
• Your most important master data is centrally stored in your TÜV SÜD ID account. There you can view and manage the data at any time. You don’t need to maintain them in all portals and stores.
• The single sign-on function allows you to switch portals and stores without having to log in again.
As new customer you can register yourself or be invited. As incumbent customer you are migrated to TÜV SÜD ID once the service that you use is integrated with TÜV SÜD ID. After you have received your TÜV SÜD ID, you can log in to the portals and stores of TÜV SÜD using your credentials (login name and password)
The portal or store of TÜV SÜD provides a button or a menu item “Login” (or similar). If you click this, the login page of TÜV SÜD ID opens. Here you choose “Register Now”. This starts the registration process.
TÜV SÜD ID leads you through the registration process. After you have entered the required data, we will send a verification code to your email address. Please check your spam folder if the email does not appear in your main folder. Please enter this code in the registration window to verify your email address.
The following data is needed:
• an email address that shall be used as login name. You must be able to receive emails for this address
• your first and last name
• your salutation (optional)
• the country or region where you live
• if needed, explicit consent that you agree to the processing of your data in the European Union (some countries require this for legal purposes)
• the information whether you are private or business customer
• your account number if you are a business customer (optional)
• a password
In most cases, the cause for this lies with the recipient:
• The email address is spelled incorrectly. Please check this.
• You have entered a different email address altogether. Please check this.
• Your mailbox is full, so that no additional emails can be received. Please empty it.
• The email is considered spam and has been moved into the spam directory. Please have a look there.
• Your email address has been blocked by our mail service provider due to previous difficulties while trying to send emails to you. (Examples are hard or repeated soft bounces.) Please check this with your IT.
• The IT department of you company blocks emails sent by [email protected] or generally emails sent via the mailing service provider Mailjet. Please check this with your IT.
If all of this does not help you, please contact [email protected].
The verification code is valid for 20 minutes. You can request a new one if the first one has expired.
TÜV SÜD employees can log in to the portals and stores without previous registration. You are redirected to the Active Directory of TÜV SÜD. There you may need to enter your normal Windows credentials.
The portal or store of TÜV SÜD provides a button or a menu item “Login” (or similar). If you click this, the login page of TÜV SÜD ID opens. Enter your username and your password and click on “Log in”.
You need your username (the e-mail address you gave during registration) and your password. Possibly you need a verification code as second factor. You can get the verification code in your authenticator app or it is sent to your email address.
This can have the following reasons:
• You are not yet registered.
• You use the wrong username (incorrect email address).
• You use the wrong password (is e.g. caps lock turned on?).
• You have forgotten your password.
• There are technical problems on your side, such as firewall or browser settings or internet connectivity problems.
• You have not entered the second factor, although it is needed.
• After three failed login attempts, you are banned for 15 minutes.
Using the button “Forgot Password?“ on the login page you can define a new password at any time.
To ensure that you are entitled, some applications require a second factor during login. With the TÜV SÜD ID, this is a verification code sent to you in an email or shown in your authentication app.
The TÜV SÜD ID supports a verification code that is sent to your email address and a verification code that is given by an authentication app. At each login, you can select the method to be used.

Choose the authenticator app as MFA method during login. You are then guided through the process:
You must install the app on your smartphone. Then you are shown a QR code that you need to scan. From that point on, the verification is shown continuously and is refreshed periodically.
If you want to set up MFA on a new device, please go to you profile (see FAQ about your data below). In the tab “Settings” you can switch the MFA device. To ensure that only you can execute this sensitive step, you must enter a second factor during the process. If you cannot use your old device, please choose the email verification code. You are then guided through the process.
If you use the verification via email, it may be that the email has been delayed. In this case, please ask for a new verification code via button. If the problem persists, please talk to your IT. If you use the verification via app, please use the current code and keep in mind the limited validity period.
A portal can grant access rights to you. This is done by creating a local profile for you in the portal and by inviting you via the TÜV SÜD ID. After the invitation you can log in to this portal. Of course, you can use all other services of TÜV SÜD with you credential as long as they are not restricted.
You receive an email with sender [email protected].
In this mail there is a link to set the password. Please click on this link. In the page that is opens you define your password , specify the country where you live, give consent to the data processing in the EU if needed, and agree to the linked terms of use.
After this you can access the portal that has invited you. The link to the portal is in the email.
In these very rare cases you click on the link in the email that points to your portal and try to log in to this portal. In the login mask you click on “Forgot password?”. Then you can set the password. In an additional step, you specify the country where you live, give consent to the data processing in the EU (if required by your country), and agree to the terms of use.
Please contact us by writing an e-mail to [email protected]. In your user profile there is a button to initiate the deletion of your user profile. The profile is deleted if there are no compelling reasons against it.
In your store or portal, there is a menu item or other links to manage your user profile. Please click on the menu item or button to access your profile with all the master data.
• Your email address as username
• Master data: Mandatory are first name, last name, and the email address. You can add salutation, addresses, contact data and other data. If technically possible, you can modify or delete the data
• Account number (for business users)
• Your role and status in TÜV SÜD ID
You can modify all data as long as it is technically possible, for instance your credentials and your master data. Some values are set by TÜV SÜD ID and cannot be changed by you.
On your profile page there is a button “Delete Profile”. With this you initiate the deletion process. Please note, though, that your profile is deleted only in the system providing the TÜV SÜD ID (the CIAM system), but not in the portals and stores that you use. Once your profile has been deleted, you cannot access any purchased services anymore. If you want to continue using either purchased or additional digital services of TÜV SÜD, please do not delete your profile.
If you delete your profile, some data will be retained for 30 days (for technical reasons). Afterwards, the data will be deleted automatically.
