About the Program

This intensive training course is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and hands-on auditing skills required to become CQI IRCA-certified Lead Auditors for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) based on ISO 14001:2015.  

Delivered by TÜV SÜD's experienced instructors, the course follows ISO 19011 guidelines and incorporates ISO 17021 requirements where applicable. It features practical workshops, case studies, and group discussions to help participants consolidate learning and apply audit techniques with confidence. 

The training is ideal for professionals across the Middle East, including those in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, who are involved in environmental management and wish to advance their careers as certified EMS auditors.

PRE-REQUISITES 

As recommended by CQI IRCA, participants should have prior knowledge of: 

• The Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle 
• Core management system elements and their interrelationships 
• Key EMS outcomes including:

  • Compliance obligation fulfillment 
  • Environmental objective achievement 
• ISO 14001 requirements and terminology (completion of a CQI IRCA Certified EMS Foundation course or equivalent is recommended) 

EXAMINATION & CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

The course includes both continuous assessments and a specimen examination midway through the program to help participants gauge their understanding and reinforce key concepts. 

A mock examination paper is also reviewed and discussed during the course, allowing participants to become familiar with the structure and style of questions they will encounter in the final assessment. 

The course concludes with a 2-hour closed book examination designed to evaluate each participant’s understanding of key ISO 14001 concepts and their ability to apply them in practical audit scenarios.  

This final assessment is essential for achieving EMS Lead Auditor certification and serves as a strong validation of the skills developed throughout the program. Successfully passing the exam leads to a credential that is widely recognized across the environmental management sector.
