What is ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Accreditation

The ISO/IEC 17020:2012 is a nationally, and internationally, recognized standard. It assures the Compliance, Performance & efficiency of the Inspection Body.

ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation is the highest level of excellence an Inspection Body receives. It’s the highest standard an Inspection Body can receive for their competence. It’s an independent verification that the Inspection Body meets the established quality standards and is competent to carry out specific conformity assessment tasks. Accreditation helps the organization to demonstrate integrity, reliability, and technical competence as well as compliance recognized good practices internationally.


National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) is the regulatory body for the assessment of Inspection Bodies for accreditation as per the criteria in line with international standards and guidelines. Accredited Body’s conformity assessment reduces risk for business and its customers by assuring them that accredited certificates may be relied upon.

TÜV SÜD’s checklist for food safety inspections is extensive, covering a diverse range of food types and taking a holistic view of the food production journey.
